April 20th, 2021. Write it down, mark it in your calendar, do you know where you will be? Do you know what you will be doing? I know what I will be doing. On April 20th I will be sitting at my computer trying to buy my next set of NFT's.

We knew it was just a matter of time when TOPPS and WAX started their partnership that Major League Baseball (MLB) NFT cards would be coming. Then we saw the success of NBA Top Shot over on that slow expensive blockchain and it seemed almost imperative that WAX and TOPPS should do something.

After waiting what seems like forever, we finally got the announcement today. There are to major NFT projects that I have been saving up my money for and this is definitely one of them.

The hope is that this can end up being as good of an investment as NBA Top Shot has been. One thing that has me pretty concerned is the fact that they seem to simply be static cards. The NBA project is actual NFT video clips of awesome plays, I think that might give them more of a draw than just static images.

At least give me someone swinging the bat or catching a ball. Like an awesome diving catch. That would be cool. I kind of feel like there maybe wasn't a ton of thought put into this. I hope that isn't the case, but with what I am seeing before, I am not sure it will be the Top Shot killer I hoped it would be.

The fact that it is credit card only could be a turn off for some people looking to make a purchase. Then again, I think Top Shot is CC only too, but I could be wrong.

I like the fact that there is a limited number of packs. We have seen our fair share of different launch models and some of the unlimited pack but limited sale time launches have fallen a little flat for me.

Based on these prices, I can see myself trying to get maybe one or two premium packs and then a handful of standard packs. It will depend. That $100 price point on the premium packs is a little steep. Then again if the packs gain value like the Top Shot ones, that $100 could sell for $1000 on the secondary market.

I think it is kind of cool that they have a burn mechanism in place for the cards. That might give the cards a little more value than just being a one-off type thing.

It really does feel like this could be huge. I hope so anyway. The WAX blockchain is awesome and deserves more recognition than it has been getting.
