I've been writing some posts over the past couple of months about the mannabase project and some of the changes that have been happening with them. Basically, when I get an email from the project, I pass that info along to you.

After a quite long hiatus, mannabase has been working in conjunction with BrightID to have some kind of DAO and "FairDrop" to distribute their tokens.

Mannabase was started on the premise of providing a Universal Basic Income for everyone. Unfortunately, many people abused the system (surprise, surprise) to collect as many tokens as possible. This was detrimental and against the spirit of the project, so they decided to rework the system. I think there might have been some kind of legal issue as well, but don't quote me on that.

Like I said, I got this email the other day announcing that the BrightID DAO was fully launched and you can start claiming your BRIGHT fairdrop tokens. You can read the full Medium article here.

From what I understand, BrightID is just the first step towards the full rollout of mannabase 2.0. They needed a away to ensure that individuals have a single account versus multiple accounts like in the past. That is where BrightID comes in. Once your BrightID is verified, that is how you will login to the Hedge for Humanity (mannabase) inferface to earn your tokens.

If you are interested in participating or at least getting in on the BrightID DAO fairdrop, you should check out the Medium article that I shared above.

From what I have seen, I like the idea behind both BrightID and mannabase. If they would have had something like BrightID around during the whole Keybase/Stellar airdrop, they might have actually been able to complete it and not cut it short due to abuse.

Time will tell whether or not BrightID is the ideal solution for this project. We all know that there are people working really hard to game every system they can. If there is even a small exploit with the Bright DAO, we know that someone will find it and abuse it.
