A couple of days ago the governance team of LBI released a post talking about the next round of nominations for the governing body of LBI. You can read the post here.

Over the past several months, it has been my privilege to serve on the governance team. If I remember correctly, the last election went very similar to how this one has been going. Not a lot of interest at first, but then close to the closing window, we saw an influx of nominations.

First, I'd like to thank each of you who voted for me. I appreciate your confidence and the trust that you placed in me to represent you on the governance team.

In our first tenure, we have seen several internal initiatives passed and one external proposal. It was definitely a learning experience for all of us. We had to work some kinks out of the voting system that we thought was fairly sound. We also took feedback from stake holders and implemented those changes.

The most prominent being the fact that we actively increased the voting window for internal initiatives so that stakeholders could have as much time as possible to ask their questions and have them answered.

I can still remember the first time I heard about LBI. It was from my longtime Hive friend @cryptoandcoffee. He asked if I was going to invest in it and I am a little ashamed now to admit, I had no clue what it was.

He laid down the rough outline for me an pointed to SBI as an example and I was basically hooked. This was during a time that I hadn't yet had my first big "crypto win" with some of my WAX NFTs, so liquid funds weren't as readily available as they are now. Despite that fact, I scrounged every reward and random piece of crypto I was holding so I could reach my goal of holding 2000 LBI tokens.

I am proud to say I hit that goal and I have since increased my holdings to bump me up to ~2600 LBI tokens.

I think that alone should speak to my dedication to this project and how much I believe in it. In my work with the team running it, I have found them to be top notch, and I think we can all attest to how knowledgeable the content team is.

Finally, I think my track record on the governance team should speak for itself. We made it through a whole year with zero drama, controversy, or bias. When the community wanted to differ dividends, we collected that vote and the will of the masses was done. Perhaps not everyone agreed with it, but the community made the choice, we simply presented those results to the rest of the stakeholders. As DAOs become more and more common, we are going to be seeing much more of that.

The opposite is also true, when the majority of stakeholders decided it was finally time to receive dividends, we presented that in an equally unbiased way. It has been a pleasure to work with @empoderat, @alexvan, and @silverstackeruk. I hope to be able to continue working with them in the same capacity into the next year.

So there you have it, this is my nomination. As far as I know it is the first one for this period. I really hope it isn't the only one!
