Threads - A Gateway To Hive Ecosystem

I have just recently noticed that something is disturbing me while concentrating on writing long-form posts. That distraction is called LeoThreads. It has become some sort of automation for me to just click my way there and start scrolling down. But it's not a bad thing, not at all.

Sometimes when I have momentary writer's block I often find myself scrolling down Threads. I might find new inspiration or a funny thread that'll make me laugh and loosen up a bit. Also, reading short-form content makes it easier to jump out and get back to work on the long-form again. Generally speaking, it's a good thing to take some distance once in a while when experiencing writer's block and for me, Threads has become a go-to place.

Casual Visitor

When I first discovered Hive I remember thinking it was quite fragmented. Sure, communities are a great way to find information and get to know other bloggers but it can feel a bit overwhelming at first.

Through Threads, this landing process could perhaps feel a bit smoother for new users.

Let's say a casual visitor googled his way to Threads. After scrolling for a while he sees #splinterlands under trending topics, a familiar name of the blockchain game his friend was talking about. With a click and just a little scrolling, he quickly sees all the Splinterlands discussions in a short, easy-to-read format.

He then finds an interesting thread and clicks the link attached to find out more and is now reading a long-form post. The post was so good that he gets his Hive keys and starts playing Splinterlands.

Rarely we are only interested in one thing only. Since our visitor found Threads a good place to start perhaps he then heads back to read more about other interests of his. This time our visitor spots a #defi topic, a subject he knows a lot about. Now he'll most likely start to Thread himself and why not? With his new set of keys, he's now even earning LEO while doing so.

Being a Web 3.0 dapp and through monetization, Threads is well ahead of the competition. Furthermore, in the future, I believe there can be pretty damn good synergy between Threads, Hive communities, and dapps built on Hive.

Gateway To Hive Ecosystem

I just got my 2-year Hive badge but have been active for less than a year. It's hard to say why I didn't stay the first time around. Maybe it was that fragmented first impression I got or maybe I was unconsciously looking for some sort of a centerpiece.

Now I'm thinking that Threads could be exactly a thing like that. A place to casually hang out with friends from different communities, read about new Hive projects, or just have a laugh. It could be a gateway for new users and a meeting point for old ones.

Like most of us, I'm into many things within the Hive ecosystem and it would be great to find out what's trending in my favorite topics, quickly, under the same roof. The attached links would then send me to delve into reading longer articles. To LeoFinance and all across Hive.

Once people from the wide, wide web discover Threads and users like you and me make it part of our Hive routine, I think it's going to be absolutely huge.

Thank you for reading!

And hey, what are your expectations or visions for Threads? Share in the comments!
