As we know from the recently released Land Whitepaper, it's all about the PP... Production Points, that is. In a nutshell, you must work your land in order to produce the various resources available to different types of plots, and to do so you need workers (cards) to do roll up their sleeves and get to work. The whitepaper elaborates in great amounts of detail how each rarity, foil, and edition contributes to Production Points, but with all the variables it's hard to figure out what's best to go for, in particular given the variable prices of each card. That's where Peakmonsters' latest feature "Best PP / Cost ratio " comes in.

You can find the feature in the "Buy" tab by switching to the "Compare" view mode and selecting "Compare By" "Best PP / Cost ratio".

Then, you can sort by either PP or PP/Cost in order to see what comes up. Don't forget of course to use the filters on the right. Even though a card may have a better PP/Cost ratio, its maximum PP may (and most likely will be) lower than other cards.

Here's what I've learned so far based on current pricing:

  • The best PP/Cost ratio currently comes from Rare Modern Rewards cards, such as Naga Assassin and Venari Bonesmith
  • The best Legendary PP/Cost ratio comes from Modern Rewards cards, namely Djinn Biljka
  • The best GF PP/Cost ratio currently comes from Common Rewards cards, namely Venari Heatsmith
  • Gold Foil cards provide a massive boost to maximum possible PPs (2x for Common, ~3.6x for Rare, 4x for Epic, and ~6.7x for Legendary), and the current premiums for GF to RF are 1.6x for Common, 2.2x for Rare, ~3x for Epic, and 2.5x for Legendary. Therefore at the moment it would appear Legendary cards are the best choice relative to their RF peers if you're looking to maximize PP/Cost ratio within a rarity band
  • You get a better PP/Cost ratio from an Alpha rare than a Modern GFL, despite the Alpha rare having nearly the same max potential PP (~8k vs. 10k)

My main takeaway (like a lot of players out there I'm sure) is that I don't have nearly enough gold foil cards for all of this...

There is a ton more to fish for in this feature and frankly it's incredible how quickly @peakmonsters were able to get this up. I've just spent the last hour digging through it to find deals, and will be spot checking the market with this feature on a daily basis.

Hope you found this useful, and hope you find this feature useful as you plan for the Splinterlands Land Expansion!

And now, a few Midjourney re-imaginings of the Splinterlands Land Expansion for your viewing pleasure... :)
