YouTube controls the past and is trying to control the future

Since the beginning of this year I've seen a number of videos deleted from YouTube. I don't have a lot of patience for challenging these decisions because frankly I don't care about YouTube but the most recent one is different. It came with a Community Guidelines pre-strike:

Our team has reviewed your content, and, unfortunately, we think it violates our violent criminal organizations policy. We've removed the following content from YouTube:

Video: Veteran Journalist, Abdullah Murtaja reads the news from Gaza

I couldn't even remember this video but I dug into the depths of my archives at home and found it. I've put it back up on @threespeak and it'll be at the end of this post.

This is the appeal I put in to YouTube about it:

This is both satire and makes a very serious point.

This man self identifies as an Islamic Jihadi (a terrorist). When he was killed committing a terrorist act the UN rushed to condemn Israel. It turned out he also self identified as a journalist.

As we see in this video (which is released by Hamas and has my satirical subtitles which I can't even see now) he most definitely self identifies as an Islamic Jihadi (and maybe a journalist too).

How can you use your privilege to redefine his lived experience and ignore his self identification?

YouTube has become exactly what George Orwell feared most: a Party which controls the past in order to control the future.

The other videos I've had taken down, which I will try to repost if I can find them:

Video: Shire Network News: The Ayman Al Zawahiri interview Video: Louis Farrakhan Linda Sarsour Womens March 540 Video: Icon of Hatred FULL UNEDITED VERSION Al Durah

And here is the video which it was so important for YouTube to take down.
