What If Money Was No Object?

That is the question, that we often forget to ask ourselves. To quote the famous movie "Fight Club" here " we spend money we don't have to buy things we don't want to impress people we don't like".Maybe this is a bit crude and oversimplified, but it makes you think and look back on your decisions.

This echoes louder and louder in my brain as my colleague at work tells me the story of her journey to getting approved some meaningless paper that nobody will ever read or adhere to. I notice how much time at work we spend doing stuff that is absolutely unnecessary and mind-numbing. I cannot help but ask myself are there really people who can honestly say that they are happy doing this or that this is their passion? Isn't there anything in the world they would rather do instead of making everyone's lives a tad more miserable?

This makes me enjoy Hive, LEO and POB, so much more. I am free to write or upvote whatever I want and generate income. This has one massive advantage, people genuinely create and care about the stuff that they put out. You are your own boss and create your own rules. I really like to read the articles that taskmaster put out. And if it is true that we are slowly but surely moving towards the economics of abundance I am both happy and scared.

Happy because a lot of people will be able to live life on their own terms, doing what they love and not just being corporate slaves.

On the other hand, I have seen some examples of people who believe that they ARE the current system, so not sure if they will be able to adapt.image
