Splinterlands brawl report with The Calzones

🐲 Brawl Report 🐲

Looking at the lineup of guilds before the brawl started I knew this was going to be a challenge. Only one Guild was ranked lower than The Calzones. Challenge accepted! Unfortunately COVID struck my house during this brawl, so the report is a bit skimpier than usual as we are still getting back to normal. Thankfully all mild cases, but still a bump in the road the last few days.

Either way my hope was having Grum up front would protect me enough to let the back row take care of my opponent. It was a good choice to pack a lot of damage as my opponent used tank heal with Taunt. I paid for the poor choices by not being able to overcome Goblin healing himself. I don't mind losing to better cards or strategy, but I can't stand when I make silly decisions. My thinking was correct going with Thaddius to debuff Obsidian, but unfortunatley I ended up with a ranged attacker left helpless in the first position at the end of the battle. 😒😒 Two and four, my worst performance with The Calzones to date and two very poor setups on my part. This was a tough draw, but I had at least two opportunities to make it better. I'll blame COVID and hopefully have a better showing next Brawl 🤢😀

Not The Calzones best overall performance, but considering the high ranking guilds we were up against, and my own personal poor showing, it was a well fought Brawl by the rest of the team. Thanks to the eight crowns we won, we are now 14 crowns short of being able to upgrade our Barracks and start using Gladius cards. Seeing the mess Quora made of my decent lineup this is going to be an enormous game changer for The Calzones. Not only is Bloodlust a huge OP ability, but some of the cards, even without considering this, are down right beasts.

As a tease of things to come, the extra merits this Brawl also set me up with enough to open another Gladius pack, my second ever! Two rare cards is a nice addition. Captain Katie will help make my Life deck much more competitive and Chimney behind Grum will be a crazy tag team. 14 more crowns here we come. If we can finish in the top two we can do this next Brawl 😱 Let's go Calzones!!!
