ROI for each dCity Building

As a follow on to my post on earning passive income sources on hive I decided to put together a spreadsheet to try and determine which buildings I needed to invest in early to start building my SIM to buy even more buildings.

For prices I took the current lowest asking price on the market. Earnings were taken from the information on dCity. I have a WEED farm and a Brewery so I factored the mined WEED and BEER token values in the earnings but am not showing them here because it didn't contribute much to the total earnings.

Note these ROI calculations do not factor in any benefits from a building other than earnings. The other factors such as popularity and education add value that is not being captured in these calculations.

I made two tables. The first assumes you already have workers so the ROI only factors in the cost of the building. This may be most useful for established players where immigration supplies all the workers needed.

My second table adds the cost of the workers needed to operate the building. I used the asking price of the cheapest worker (77 SIM) to estimate this cost. Purchasing apartments is a much better investment, and would reduce the cost of workers significantly.

Again, remember these estimates do not factor in any value to popularity and education.

Some Take Aways

A casino is the most profitable property regardless of if you include the costs of workers or not.

Job centers are tied with casinos for most profitable when you don't include the cost of workers. Factoring in the increased education and the lower purchase price, I would probably give the nod to job centers over casinos early on in city development.

Forests look like a really good investment for new cities (and not so new cites) and are inexpensive enough for newbies to afford.

While not shown here, my calculations for the added WEED and BEER tokens indicated the added value for the mined tokens is somewhat insignificant to the earnings for those building types. Both of these buildings do have high values for popularity so they may be a good investment but the added value from the mined tokens is not significant to earnings. I had hoped the mined tokens would add significantly to the earnings.

Hope you found this helpful. If so please consider reblogging, upvoting, or leaving a comment.
