So I'm just a week into GamePlay on @splinterlands and while I'm constantly getting slaughtered, I'm putting in the effort to learn. It's not easy for me but I'm starting to map out strategies.

First, instead of playing all over the place and choosing cards willy nilly I've decided to choose a "favorite" splinter and focus on playing it over and over until I learn things about it simply through osmosis.

It typically takes me time to get things through my head and that's one of the things I appreciate about the game. It's a good mental exercise and you have to pay attention. Well, not really but you'll continually lose unless you make subtle changes to your lineup. I could literally play the same set over and over without making a single change but I'm forcing myself to watch the battles closely and replay them until I understand how and why I lose.

Focusing on one splinter makes this easier so I'm not going to worry about my losses outside my favorite Splinter. I chose Fire because my first few wins came from fire and came from complete luck. I figure if I can luck out with fire, then I can learn some Fire strategy easier than I'd learn another splinter.

This may or may not be true but it seems true for me. So if you battle me early on in my Journey youre gonna see a lot of repetition and you'll have an advantage. That's my gift to the community. I'm happy to take a beating for a while until I learn the ropes. Being a Newbie in the game world isn't easy but I'll get it eventually.
