I've been meaning to write the post for some time now. I look at https://leofinance.io/ and I see content moving around from time to time and switching the area on the page where we see it.

It makes me wonder how people inspect the page and choose the content they click on.

Obviously what stands out the most is the larger article on the top left of the page and I find myself staring at it as soon as I log on. But, I don't always click it.

For me, I always click on the "Latest" section in the lower 3rd on the right. It's an odd impulse for me because the lower 3rd means that you have to scroll the page to find it and from a UI perspective your "money target" is always in the 3rd.

So what that means is that I have trained myself to seek out the new posts on a site I'm already familiar with. I've habit formed and that's ok.

But what about new users? They will tend to click on the upper left larger story. Also, over time we have been trained to look at the top left of a website. Modern eyes head there on purpose.

You'll note in the image above, that space really stand out because the image associated with the picture has that bright lightning bolt. It's really eye catching! (Thumbnails are a huge marketing factor on Youtube but the least attention is paid to them by creators. Big Mistake!) But that is a post for another day.

So we've established this frozen place in time @leofinace rountable did a nice job on their post image, but in our case it really doesn't matter because on https://leofinance.io/ new eyes focused right in on that position. Sometimes the images are bad but it still gets the hits.

I think the next spot is the larger story on the right side of the upper 3rd. Again, because it is a larger space and you don't have to scroll anywhere to find it that's the next place people will click.

To be honest, I don't even notice the 3 stories in between.I never see them unless I like. But remember, I habit formed and have already scrolled down to the new content.

Is There A Correct Way To Consume Leo Content On The Homepage?

I don't know. But, one thing is for sure, we can totally manipulate what people see when they hit the site. Design is a really important feature for the success of a website. Leofinance looks great and I have no complaints.

The point I want to make is in regards to a school of thought that I've been reading about on the site. That is, that there is a segment of the community that doesn't want to continually read content about Leofinance!

As a marketer I'm a billion percent against that but I totally understand it. But at this point we are not big enough to be a hub where people come to read crypto and finance news they can read on dozens of other sites and we have no influencers creating their original content on https://leofinance.io/ to broadcast out to their minions.

So at this point we are really a space that needs to market our value proposition because nobody else is. I know that means sometimes users who dont want to read about how great we are will trip over the content but it doesnt have to be that way.

There a places on the lower 3rd of the site that could host all the leo type cotent. I imagine it would just take some type of agreed upon "topic" to be used on the content before it's published.

So that was a long way around the principle question here. How do you consume the content you see on the homepage of https://leofinance.io/ ?
