Investing More In Rising Star (Worth It?)

There have been a few changes to Rising Star Game over the last few months. Most, to discourage farming at ridiculous levels for sustainability.

I'm all for it because I like the game and it is still profitable. After all, you just click a button. I gamified my earnings even more because now I buy a fan card every day, run my millionaire mission and immediately sell the profit for hive.

All the rest that I earn from my daily missions stays in the game to stack starbits. But what I want to talk about today is my leap out of the local gig circuit which banked me a lot of starbits.

When you get to the end of the circuit you run band auditions to unlock a band and move up to the 3rd level which is the country tour. You can see that in the image above.

I never really cared about doing it because I had heard the missions arent as juicy up there and you need to buy some "stuff". I was pretty happy with my missions in the local gig circuit but I was curious. I would need to forgo a few thousand starbits a day just unlock the next level. It took me 18 tries but I did it.

The first thing I learned that in order to take my band on tour I would need transportation. Ugh!! That means spending money!!! Lucky for me, I had gotten a t2 midrange tour bus in a back several months ago so I didn't need to buy one. But they are cheap anyway. It won't be a setback for anyone to buy one at this level.

So I went to do my first mission. I was excited because now I had a new 5 minute and 15 minute mission to run with less ego. (so I thought)

I clicked the Band Rehearsal to farm a few starbits and I got prompted that I needed to have a rehearsal room to practice in. Ughh!!! I need to spend money! I didn't have one so I said I'm here now and I gotta go for it. I chose the "first rehearsal room" sold by the game for 10,000 starbits.

I was bumbed but it is only 1 millionaire mission worth of starbits or about 2 days of other mission earnings for me so I went for it. The mission was fast and was a dud but at least I didn't gain a bunch of ego and could run the mission 3 times without doing so.

But here is what I learned. If you go up to Country Tour, the ego on your old Local Gig Circuit automatically goes up. For example. I would run a Local Mini Tour Support mission when I went to bed because it was 300 minutes log. It had the most opportunity for starbits but was 8 ego for the mission. Now when I run the mission it is 12 ego!! Had I know this, I probably wouldn't have pushed through the local gig circuit.

In the Country Tour there seems to be more card requirements to get throgh the missions. For the Full Band Support mission you need to buy 5 Petrol Cans to run it. That's 25K starbits so it will take a lot of missions to pay for them.

I did it and I'm ok with it because I run missions all day and don't think I'll ever stop but it hasn't been worth it. I would have been just as happy staying and earning in the Local Gig Circuit.

Personally, I wanted to know what was around the corner so I'm happy I did it but so far investing more into Rising Star hasn't been worth it. But, it is really important if want to support the game which I do. Remember, I still profit every day!
