LeoFinance Marketing: What the Bleep? Steemit Is Still King?

Ughh, what a kick in the gut. Yep, Steemit is still the king. And we need to bow down one last time.

"But steem sucks and Justin is a dick, right?"

Right!

"Then how can you get on @leofinance and blaspheme like this?"

I have to because Steemit is king whether we like it or not. Remember I'm an SEO marketing guy and I'm here to help.

Regardless of what we think about steemit, it has been around a long time and the https://steemit.com/ url has a shit ton of authority. (It seems to be declining though). And for guys like me (and you) that is important.

Google ranks urls with something called Page Authority. Don't worry about what it means but it's a metric that Google likes.

Sites like Facebook and Google have a PR of 10. That's the best you can get. Steemit has an 8. That's pretty much unheard of for what basically accounts to a social bookmarking script.

In fact, that's why I joined steemit almost 3 years ago. I had no idea it was a crypto, I just wanted backlinks from a PR 8 Domain. And I got them. They should right up in my Google Search Console and helped me rank my personal websites on Google.

A little has changed since then and the links are not quite as powerful but they still matter.

Right now, https://hive.io/ and https://leofinance.io/ only have a Page Rank of 5. I'll admit I was shocked they were even that high.

Why Would We Care About Steemit If We Love Leo?

Well, that is why. Because we love LeoFinance. Don't worry about the how, just worry about the why. Dropping a link in your steemit profile to https://leofinance.io/ or your leofinance profile will do good things behind the scenes for LeoFinance SEO and Marketing.

Just Hold Your Nose and Do it

If you don't find it completely offensive to your sensibilities just log into your old steemit account and siphon off some of their link juice to https://leofinance.io/.

Just open your profile, click settings on the right and pop in any leofinance url you. It can even be to one of your posts.

Let's Play A Little Game for Proof Here

Go ahead and search your username in google. If your username is your real name this still works but it's a little harder but if you use a handle like me (cflclosers) it's easier to grasp.

Let's take cflclosers for example. When I search cfclosers on google here is what comes up.

The first thing you see is my steemit page! Google even things my Steemit page is more important than Instagram! That's nuts. I have to admit that I'm shocked Hive is listed so that is great. My leofinance page is even appears on the list much further down so I'm excited. But steemit apparently is what I'm all about and poor little Instagram is lagging behind.

Now let's check what Google thinks @khaleelkazi is all about.

Wait, What? khaleelkazi's Steemit page is #2 on Google when you search for him? Linkedin always ranks high so I'm not surprised that it's number one. But steemit? Really?

He hasn't even posted on Steemit in 4 months!

So What's The Point?

Nothing really. No reason to care about this stuff if you aren't into the SEO or Marketing of the @leofinance brand. But you can help us by changing the URL on your steemit page. My philosophy is for everyone to do all the easy stuff so that we have to do less hard stuff.
