I've been moving more away from traditional Hive blogging towards the PlaytoEarn games which ironically I learned about from being on Hive.

But, playing games also leads to good content and I spend lots of time interacting with the blockchain trying to figure out these games. In the last few months I started Splinterlands and it's been frustrating but a lot of fun.

Further, I have joined several other games and play them a traditional playtoearn guy without investing into them at first. I've been playing Alien Worlds, @risingstargame, Hash Kings, Alien Ships and RollerCoin. I've tried a few others that don't come to mind right now but I'm playing all of these that I'm mentioning.

What I noticed is that while each is fun in it's own way, none of them compare to playing Splinterlands as a newb in Bronze. While I've spent a lot of time worrying about the cheapening of Bronze rewards and how it may or may not effect the growth of the game by turning off new players, I realized that it still the only game worth my time and attention.

I'm actually making actual money playing a game that is fun. While my chances of getting a card are down to 10% and there are now DEC rewards for me, I'm still earning DEC in my battles and with the current price of DEC I earn around a penny per battle. I have to admit that I bought starter cards when Steemmonsters came out and never played, I have enough power in my collection to get to Silver.

But, the cards that give me power are not the cards I need to play in silver. I have a hodgepodge of a set because I never played when the game started. I use the starter cards and luckily I own a few as Alpha cards. So I will make more from battles than brand new players but you can start with a spell book and earn as a new player. And, I believe its way more than starting these other games.

For example, I started playing alien worlds 6 weeks after it started. I began with the shovel they gave me and mined an ungodly amount of sessions. The game was always open in a browser and I pressed the mining button all day long. As I result I have currently mined 229 TLM which is worth about $45 as I write this.

I can't really figure out how much time I wasted getting this far in Alien Worlds but I'm literally only mining about 1 tlm a week. It's Nuts that I even do it but I started months before I started playing Splinterlands. I wanted to start playing splinter when the game started but honestly I couldn't figure it out. I left quite a bit of money on the table by not doing quests and getting those reward cards. But even only being 5 seasons in it has been profitable for me.

Between the SPS, DEC, Credits and Cards I earn well over $1 a day and I don't even play my capture rate efficiently. If I optimized my play I could get it near $2 a day right now. That's not bad. I think as a free player in Roller Coin I mine about .001 of a Dodge a day. I only play out of habit there but it is not worth my time and attention. The only game I know of that is worth it is Splinterlands.

So as much as I complain about what I am no longer given for the same time and attention I give the game, the more I realize how much Splinterlands actually offers to people willing to risk $10 for a spellbook. If I am to be completely honest with you I will probably sell my SPS and/or DEC the day of the drop because I may get only 1 voucher for the entire drop.

My thought is that there will be furious price swings in all Splinterland assets so I'm thinking I will sell my SPS and DEC and just start over earning daily from my battles and the 260ish days left in the airdrop. At today's prices I could cash in about $800 from less than 3 months of play. Not bad right?
