I have a problem with Hive Editing posts and Spending Resource Credits

I can still remember the first day I joined HIVE, sometime in early September. I was super anxious when getting my first post ready (as I remember correctly, a Splinterlands share your battle ). I was painfully reading and re-reading, it took me a while getting accustomed to the features of HIVE frontend blogging;

  • Post Tags
  • Markdown Format and Visual Editor
  • How to Pick a Thumbnail
  • Coming up with a Post Summary

Anyway, as expected I finally figured it all out. I clicked the Post Button gracefully, it took a little while to load, and Oops ,the Resource Credits Insufficient Error Message that looks so scary popped up

This again took me a while to understand, but my blockchain brainpower paid off here and I conquered the logic behind RCs(Resource Credits). I decided to come back after 5 hours and try again.

I come back 5 hrs later but I'm too tired, that post took out my energy just as if I had run a mile, so I decide to continue the NEXT Day.

When I came back the next day, the first thing I did was log into Keychain and check my RC points (A solid 50, Nice). Everything else remained exactly as I left it, I was scared someone might have seen my drafted post and made amends, what was I thinking? Beginners Chill Maybe!. Anyway, POSTED!!.

I finally did it!. I was in bliss mode UNTIL I saw something that looked funny - My thumbnail was blank, a horrifying white blank, I mean what's worse than that??. I was SURE that I clicked the thumbnail I desired, what could be at work here?

OOf, Time to re-edit....

  • I click to re-edit my post,
  • with the Original thumbnail,
  • Resource Credits available,

So I Update my Post,

I check my RC(because it's become a habit of mine) and Gosh, my whole Resource Credits were cleared for the transaction, just to change my thumbnail I wondered aloud?.. WOW, that was definitely weird.

Fast forward up till today; I really think that it's just bad that our resource credits have to be taken a full amount for a re-edited post. Most times, I'm very careful making sure I got everything right, but sometimes (with no fault of mine), my thumbnail gets messed up and an unselected one appears.

What's at stake here? When I think about it logically, I felt there has to be some kind of data that is stored when a blog is posted and changes to that data would be calculated based on the amount of data changed, then Resource Credits would be spent accordingly. It's basic maths.

I had this experience as a total beginner on 25 levels when resource points were like diamonds to me, even though now it still happens, at least I'm better positioned. I hate to think of many others experiencing this in a totally new world that requires persistence before you start to see the sunshine. To think if I had quit out of frustration before having seen hive for what it really is!

I truly hope that something can be done about this. Maybe sometime in the future?, because editing posts is as I'm sure, Important to all Hive content creators and something I would want to do more often to update past guides I've written without worrying about spending the same amount of RCs

Thanks for reading, upvote, and reblog so that more people can create awareness about this problem in our great community, HIVE. I'm highly looking forward to a solution and I hope you are too!.
