I just received my new metal venmo debit card. (I chose the onyx color)

I had heard the word venmo quite a few times before, but always thought it was for yoga instructors or personal trainers or something like that. I also thought it was just a clone of 'money app' which always seemed kinda shady to me. Well, my aunt uses it all the time to send money to people, not really to pay for business stuff, but I guess one could do that just fine if they wanted.

Since it is all debit.. the money is already in your account.. funds can be sent to anyone else on the network instantly. I found out that venmo is owned by paypal, so paypal is more for biz and venmo is more for personal. Also, since either you have money in your venmo account or not, there is NO credit check at all, or the annoying waiting to be accepted or denied (as well as filling out a stupid application). Getting a venmo card is totally optional and cost $5 for the card. (the card looks and feels really nice)

Look at all the pretty colors to choose from!

Adding money is very simple.. anyone can just send you funds from their venmo account, or you can link it to your bank accout (I could only use my checking account and it needs to be a major bank that's on the 'plaid' system.. I could not add my local FCU)

Sending money is almost as easy. I say almost because you first need the extra step of adding that 'friend' to your contacts. This is actually great as it makes it foolproof.. I have sent funds to my friend before, but used his wrong phone #, so he never got it and I had to wait a few days to get the funds back.

You might want to transfer money from your venmo to your bank. Also easy. Just a few presses on the app. (note: this is one way venmo make some, as there is no charge for a 3 day transfer to your bank, but there IS a 3% charge if u want an instant transfer.. and how many people u think are patient like that?? :)

Besides being a great way to get and send money, I like to have another account that I can use solely for one venture (for me, it's for paying for my mom's needs since she is living with me now) ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค™
