#CryptoFinance Initiative: My Entry For The Initiative by @Theycallmedan. How has Crypto and Blockchain Technology Impacted My Personal Finance?
First of all, I want to appreciate @theycallmedan and @leofinance team for coming up with this initiative to enable us share great moments. It will interest you to know that the world economy itself has been affected immensely by the existence of the two factors Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology. This is my entry hivers and I hope you find it inspiring.
INTRODUCTION:
It all started in January 2018 when I first got to know about Steemit platform through a Facebook post by my friend @samexycool. When I learnt that there is a platform where contents can be shared and the author and even the curator gets rewarded, I had to click on the link and sign up for a new account. That was how I started creating contents and earning rewards after a week. As a beginner, I joined various communities and the income I used to get from my contents was what I usually used in feeding and catering for my daily needs back then. Overtime, I got to realize the essence of powering up tokens and started doing so. I made good friends from all over the world and then by March 2020 the Fork took place. Myself and my friends who believe in decentralization had to move over to Hive.
THE IMPACT:
Cryptocurrency and Blockchain has impacted my life in so many ways to mention but a few. Take for instance, I purchased my first ever personal laptop with the earnings gotten from crypto projects promotion as Digital marketing is one of my specialities since after I was able to gain a better knowledge about Blockchain and Crypto. Presently, I have a lot of responsibilities as the first son of my parents so I take care of my parents and my siblings with my earnings as a digital marketer. My personal finance has also been affected through Cryptocurrency Investment because instead of keeping my money in the bank or in fixed deposit, I rather take the risk and invest in Cryptocurrency awaiting the bull run.
When I first invested in Bitcoin early July 2018, the market price was at $8,166 and then the price dumped to $3,752 around November that year. The price remained at the 3k-5k range for months until May 2019 when it hit $8,287 and later 12k by June 2019. The pump in price was really worth the wait. Currently, the market value is around $17k and just a few days ago it almost hit ATH and that's how interesting cryptocurrency investment can be. Of a truth, I do see profits most of the times and sometimes is the reverse. But all investors are risk takers so we move.
Based on my Exposure in the Crypto and Blockchain world. I am also currently the Co-founder of a project called Telokanda aimed at educating more Africans about Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology. Telokanda is a Telos, Hive and EOSIO Blockchain based platform that rewards users in KANDA or TLOS tokens for carrying out tasks. The platform also has a community on Hive. We have our native token available on Hive-engine, Alcor exchange and on Newdex as a trading pair with TLOS. TLOS is the native token of the [TELOS] Network.
Still talking about Personal finance, I am also currently the African Lead for a Community called ChallengeDAC which has an App built on the EOSIO Blockchain. The app is called ChallengeEOS and it is used to send and receive challenges with Crypto rewards. So you can send a challenge to a friend, they will win Crypto if they are able to complete the challenge. The challenges are either Task or Geo challenges. So it has really affected my personal finance positively and I am happy that so many users are getting onboarded daily to this advanced Blockchain platforms with my help.
