What is the driving force behind these moves?

It appears that the bulls and bears are fighting - day to day on certain stocks. I know the market has been a little choppy, but some of these stocks are oscillating back and forth between big gains and losses.

Here is an example from the end of today from a watchlist of mine

I can't remember a recent times when we had moves of 4-5-6-7% gains (today) or losses (yesterday) on so many stocks without more news driving the movements. Maybe I missing something big, I tend to be a few days behind on lot of big news events. I might not be factoring in the amount of money people put on the sidelines last year that they are finally getting in well after the recovery, or those $1400 checks that are getting printed.

Hard Pressed to find a reason

I am starting to feel old, and remember when a big news story, earnings miss or beat would drive the stock to move 5-10%. These moves are happening one day then flipping back the next. Lets look at WDC as a prime example. I can find the odd tweet, or week old story, but nothing concrete.

Watching a movement one day - and seeing the have almost the perfect offset the next is just odd. Below is just the March activity. I am not used to seeing a stock add 5% one day, and dump 4% the next. Followed by dumping 8% without a new story or article I could find - only to have the market open the following day and it scream right back up to recover most of its losses. I see this more in crypto, but markets are thinner, there is a ton of leverage, and the HODL factor not usually seen in stocks.

I am at a loss for what is going on. I can't remember the last time I say a stock flop between gains and losses in 7%+ range day to day for something with a marketcap of 20.84B. The only story I could find was an upgrade by Goldman Sachs today, makes me wonder if someone was anticipating a downgrade and wanted to get out early? Either way - it keeps it interesting, and gives plenty of opportunity. Stacking a few of those gains early, and then getting back to cash for the next opportunity would make for a great 2021. If the volatility continues or even increases it will get ugly.
