As counter intuitive it may be decentralization and crypto don't always go hand in hand, in fact even projects that strive to be as decentralized as possible like Hive still have a long way to go. I may be ignorant but I don't know of any successful crypto project that can claim with a straight face to not be controlled by the development team or a few very influential players. The mega whales and miners/witnesses/ or people that paly a major role in securing the network can throw their weight around and make things happen if they so desired.

To get to that hivemind utopia where everybody really has a voice and can make a difference there has to be some major shifts in how things work in crypto. Because there is an inherent trend of accumulating power and wealth in the hands of the few, and as much as some hate that, it's just how our society works for the better or worse. And those big players will make sure to protect their interests in the detriment of everything else, because nobody really cares about the masses of ignorant plebs to be honest . Of course there are always punctual exceptions but I'm talking about how things work in general.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or anything I'm just telling it how it is, and I think it's easier to navigate the crypto world when you realize that plebs don't have that much agency instead they have to be more opportunistic and take advantage of whatever windfall they may stumble upon.

I guess all that time spent learning about crypto and the financial world in general has made me jaded and cynical , but that's just how you survive all the drama I guess :)
