Youtube shorts shadiness

Apparently youtube shorts are a thing now because people have the attention span of a goldfish and can't concentrate for more than 5 nanoseconds. That's all well and good but youtube being youtube decides to add a few small twits to the whole thing: when you upload a video people are saying that the tick box that allows others to sample your videos for their shorts crap is automatically ticked so you have to opt out manually. And that's not even the worse part, it says right there: "not all videos can opt out" meaning youtube shows you a big fat middle finger and says that you don't own the right to your own stuff anymore.
Creators have been progressively screwed over on that platform for many years with shadow bans, random demonetizations without any warning or explanation, and tons of other crappy stuff. I hope we can build a real alternative for youtube soon ( one that doesn't pull a dtube on us) because there is a strong demand for a friendly place where content creators can earn without the constant fear of shady actions taken against them.
