🚨Shopin Founder Pleads Guilty to Orchestrating Fraudulent $42 Million ICO
The NYAG announced the conviction of Shopin founder Eran Eyal for orchestrating a fraudulent ICO following his guilty plea.
The SEC charged Eyal for defrauding hundreds of investors in a scam ICO, while also offering an unregistered securities through the Shopin Tokens.
The SEC further claimed that Eyal also misappropriated investor funds to pay for personal expenses.
The court ordered Eyal to pay $125,000 in restitution and $475,000 in judgments to investors, and to surrender the remaining $450,000 in cryptocurrency to the AG’s Office.
💵 Binance Announces Partnership With Paxful, enabling 167 fiat currencies
Binance users will now be able to use p2p crypto trading platforn Paxful to buy Bitcoin (BTC) with 167 various fiat currencies.
"This marks a significant partnership between a crypto exchange and peer-to-peer platform where a new pool of users will have access to alternative fiat payment methods available on Paxful" - Binance CEO CZ said.
The partnership aims to reach and aid an estimated 2 billion unbanked people worldwide.
🔍 Bitfinex now using compliance tool from Chainalysis to keep ‘bad actors off’ its platform
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has integrated a compliance tool from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis to monitor cryptocurrency transactions in “real-time.”
Chainalysis currently tracks 41 cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, including bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash, Tether, Maker and Sai.
Bitfinex joins Binance and Bittrex exchanges who recently began using Chainalysis’ KYT software to monitor suspicious transactions.
