🏢 Lead Monero Maintainer Riccardo ‘Fluffypony’ Spagni Steps Down

Privacy-focused altcoin Monero (XMR) will see its best-known advocate step down as the project’s lead maintainer in an upcoming reshuffle.

In a official blog post, Monero confirmed that Ricardo Spagni will step down as lead maintainer and will serve as a backup maintainer in the future.

“Fluffypony has served the Monero project well over its five years of existence, and he will continue to remain active in the community as a maintainer,” the blog post read.

🛑 CoinFloor will Delist Ether and focus solely on Bitcoin trading

Coinfloor, the U.K.’s longest-running cryptocurrency exchange, plans to delist ether (ETH) next month.

The plan comes ahead of the launch of Ethereum 2.0, tentatively in 2020, which will shift the network away from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake.

Starting Jan. 3, Coinfloor will support only bitcoin (BTC), whose eleventh anniversary happens to fall on that day.

💵 Block.One's venture arm is giving out $50K Grants to EOS projects

Block.One's EOS VC has opened applications for a new program that will award grants worth $50,000 to projects seeking to improve the EOS ecosystem.

EOS VC said that there will be no predefined criteria for a successful offer, applicants need not be of certain size, and can be either existing projects or ones with plans to build on the protocol.

The aim of the grant program is to improve and expand the EOS ecosystem as well as provide another funding avenue for "promising" projects.
