Week 02 Results | 10W-16L-1P | +0.225 Units Profit

This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

This was another week with some profit even though it was nothing spectacular. Most importantly, I would say I didn't give back part of what I earned last week despite the bigger position (0.8 units in total) on Club Brugge turning out in a bad gamble and a sucker bet. These types of bets that don't seem to have any chance whatsoever to win will creep into the total bet sample of thousands of bets during the season. The way that I see making a profit from betting is that you mostly take low-edge coin flips and you need to make sure that you have fewer bets that have no chance compared to those that turn out to have a massive edge. If you manage to do this with proper money management and a long enough time frame, you eventually will end up with profit.

Pre-Game Preview Bets Season 2022-2023

The bets shared as bold Flat Unit Suggestions in the previews I'm making continue to be red hot with 8 pre-game bets this week that went 5W-2L-1P this week and the total units profit now this year is at +5.67. The start of the season usually is the easiest as markets are still somewhat catching up to some changes. It often takes balls to act on them and not just go with the favorites and overs. 10 of these bets so far have been unders or underdogs and I never went under 1.8 odds.

Regular Season 2022-2023 Personal Betting Chart

I'm still way above the expected profit and both the number of bets (27 vs 44) and the overall week volume (4.515 units vs 6.186 units) went down this week while I am always looking to get the volume up. It remains quite a challenge both mentally and when it comes down to the limits that are available especially on the bets with a bigger edge. It' continues to be a working point that is always on my mind and where I try to make steps. I did increase the units by 25% this season compared to the last and before +60%. So in a way the 4.515 units are actually 9.03 units calculated in stakes from 2 years ago. The aim remains to get in somewhere between 8 units and 10 units + each week so I will get to work trying to increase the average stake in week 3. at least I'm up over 2 units so there is room to the downside while still being overall profitable.
