The changes happen at your own pace and when we face the situation, physical money will no longer be important to people. Without drama, it's just natural selection digitally taking over the place.

I recently made a post where I say that in October we will have a meeting with the G20 and all countries involved will have the decision and planning of the future digital currency of the Central Bank (CBDC) as part of this summit.

What this reveals to us is that nations already know that the money will not last long and they need to prepare for technological innovations.

In Brazil, where I live, Mastecard promoted a survey to find out what people prefer when it comes to using means to make their payments since we are currently facing a pandemic. About 53% of respondents revealed that they intend to no longer use physical money to make their purchases.

The survey also pointed out that Brazilians are attentive to technological changes and know how to accept these innovations without any problem. 63% say that payment by approximation is the technology of the moment and will be widely used by them. We agree that this form of payment is here to stay.

According to Ana Paula, vice president of products at Mastercard states:

“We are happy to be able to serve consumers where they are today, fully ready for the withdrawal of money and the adoption of secure digital payments for the long term”

Brazil is one of the countries that has decided to put an end to the money and the banks should get used to it. Taking advantage of the momentum of digitalization, fintech companies will be alternatives for the future and we will certainly have an increase in financial startups. Will it be the end of money in the next 10 years? We'll see...

Veremos...
