I am really delighted to participate in this initiative presented to us by @theycallmedan! He is challenging us to Share our 2021 Financial Goals and how we plan to grow this year.

I’m sure we all do similar things at the start of a new year. We start to think about how we will put our plans into action. What steps we should start taking to see our goals through. We may even ask ourselves the question,

If I would have stuck to last year’s plan, where would I be financially right now?

That particular question bites a lot of us :/

Best thing to do is not wait but hop right into what you plan on doing if you have the resources and means of doing it! The sooner we began the quicker we’ll be motivated as we see things progress.

When I say investment is key I’m not just talking about in a monetary sense. I am also referring to time investments which will bring on financial gain, health benefits and yield savings. I’ll first talk about the time investments my family and I plan on doing and then I’ll get into the other goodies.

Gardening

With everything changing and going ever so different than what we’re used to we feel like it’s a good time to start growing our own food.

We have wanted to do this for sometime now but weren’t really set up to do so until now.

Starting a garden this Spring will allow us to save our finances freeing up our ability to be able to invest in other things. It will also be a health benefit for our family because we know where it’s coming from and won’t have to worry about chemicals or additives from store bought fruits and veggies. Gardening will give us an opportunity to put more away in our savings.

This is the area in the back of our home where we will be starting. We want to start with a small area as we learn and practice our gardening skills.

I use tomatoes, onions and garlic the most in our kitchen so I’m planning to start with these.

The cool thing is the owner that lived here before us already had tomatoes growing every year. She told me all I had to do was water the area and grape tomatoes as well as regular tomatoes will come up.

We recently had a couple days of snow and as it started to melt the water brung up some of those tomatoes she was speaking of. Although they are dormant now it was still promising to see them...

We even saw some of the compose she used to keep the soil nice and rich...

As we learn and get more confident with gardening we will eventually expand it. I have a vision of growing a lot of green things we eat on a normal basis.

We look forward to sharing our harvest with friends, family and anyone in need.

Here is the area on the side of our home that we’ll utilize when ready...

*Online Business

For those of you that have an online business you already know how much time invested you must be in order for it to be successful. I haven’t even fully launched my site but just preparing for it has already taken quite a bit of time commitment.

One of the reasons being is I just don’t dive into something but I take the time to research to be the best at what I’m doing. I want to be successful in everything I do so it’s worth taking the extra time to make sure that happens.

I mentioned in my last post about starting an Etsy account to sell my handmade crocheted items. The monies I earn will be used to purchase things I normally can’t afford on our regular budget. I will also be saving some of it up in order to help purchase crypto and commodities I will later talk about.

*Blogging on Hive

That’s right! This is a time investment I surely plan on continuing!

I simply love blogging and curating here on this platform. I love the friendship opportunities, the positive atmosphere, the wealth of crypto knowledge being shared, being able to earn from creating content, showing love through curating efforts...I love it all!

These last four years have been worth all the time I’ve spent here.

Why?...because I enjoy it! It’s not a job but a fun hobby type getaway pastime I use to relax and unwind.

Currently cryptocurrency is our biggest investment. I am so grateful we are ahead of the game and have dove into this virtual money world.

It’s because of blogging on Hive that I have gained such an interest for it. Before coming here my husband would try to share about it with me and convince me of it’s worth. Unfortunately it was above my head in understanding and seemed too complicated. It also was a geek language (y’all know how I feel about that geek language, just give it to me in simple terms please lol) I wasn’t ready to learn.

Fast forward I now get it and feel this will yield the most return for us in the long run.

Besides my interests in Hive I will be looking into acquiring more LEO this year as well.

We are invested in BTC and a few others we are really looking closely at but there is one project that looks really promising right now. We were able to start investing in this pretty early on...

We are staking eGLD which is the native currency of the Elrond economy. At the time of this post the price is listed at $32.6918. Do you have this token? It’s been amazing watching it rise steadily over the last few weeks!

We acquired some silver coins about ten years ago and had intentions on getting more. It kind of took a backseat once we got into crypto.

It is still one of our goals to acquire more silver and eventually use some of our crypto earnings to buy gold bars. I personally think owning tangible assets is quite important especially when the dollar fails and Lord forbid if the internet ever goes dark and there’s no way to access our online stakes.

We have already gotten into a routine of distributing funds with every paycheck. After bills are paid and savings put away we put a portion of it into the cryptos we are invested in.

We are already gathering supplies for our garden and educating ourselves with the help of my gardening parents :)

I hope to be starting my Etsy shop within the next month.

I will keep blogging and curating and appreciating the rewards I receive from both. I plan to keep growing my account organically through these means and hope one day I witness when Hive really does moon and actually stays up there with it :D

Another approach we have been taking is a minimalistic one. I’m really over the

Oh I have to get this because I’ve always wanted one. Now that I can afford it I must have it. This brand (the expensive one) would look better etc. etc.

Believe me I love nice and pretty things but a lot of what we have we really don’t need (I’m speaking of my family). I really want to be more aware of what we are bringing into our lives that don’t add value and meaning to it.

If we spend less on the unnecessaries we can buy more of the necessities and those things which will actually benefit us!

I’ll end with my prediction of the price of Hive and LEO for 2021. I’m not really good at this type of guessing game but based on the patterns I’ve seen I predict Hive will fluctuate around the $.30 mark and LEO will reach $1.00.

Let’s hope we are surprised and the final price results are far better than what we predict ;)

Thanks for Stopping In ❤️
