DeFi was all the rage over the past year and will continue to be a major part in adoption, but the next trend could just be social decentralization. I think people are realizing the future will be decentralized, private and secure.

It's been a bumpy ride with wild price action caused by FUD out of China, Iran, Elon and over leveraged traders, but markets have calmed down a bit so it has myself and many others wondering what's next?

I think we need to look at boarder conversation outside of conventional crypto circles. I see a lot of people talking about the impacts of social networking. Specifically, the topics of security, censorship, and ownership. This is were we start talking about Web 3.0 being built on centralized Web 2.0 platforms. It makes it obvious that there's a need for crypto native decentralized platforms. This transition is happening, but there's not a lot of visibility yet. Just look at Hive and Leo we are adding privacy, security and content ownership to the communities which has allowed many to move off centralized platforms.

I see crypto based social applications becoming a cornerstone of crypto evolution. I want to believe Hive and Leo can be a large part of this, but the question I ask is how do we increase adoption and visibility to our platforms?

Just look at the users bases of chat and community spaces like Telegram and Discord. Can we build a system like this on Hive? As closed-source, centralized and far from censorship-resistant there's many thing aspects we can approve on. As we exit a socially starved yet digitally dense pandemic. I see this is our opportunity to bring in a whole new era of social applications built on and around crypto.

Let's take this opportunity because there is desire to connect and expand community life online. I can't tell you how many people are frustrated with Twitter or had their content and monetization depressed by the likes of Google, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. The common denominator is we need to removing these intermediaries. The message we need to promote is the fact that we give users full control their data, their money and even the platform!
