A Polished Gem
It is quite amazing looking back and seeing how far a place like Hive has actually progressed. Justin Son actually did us a massive favor by being such a dick forcing us to find and make a new home. I remember at the time thinking WTF but knew the best decision was already made.
When you first start out on Hive people tell you to build a foundation as from that you can grow and evolve becoming somehting much more. Millionaires often talk about having the 7 revenue streams that helps them maintain their wealth and looking around on Hive there is definitely far more streams available than what there was 3 years ago.
Posting and curation are the obvious ones but staking and earning using tribe tokens as an investment is a new development that happened that wasn't around back then. Kingdoms with @leofinance earning CUB via DeFi is yet another revenue stream that will most likely turn into somehting far more lucrative than what we are seeing right now. Then other tokens that invest on your behalf like LBI/BRO and another one hopefully coming very soon, possibly later this week.
I count 5 revenue streams currently if you add those up plus the staking of Hive and earning interest that way as well. That is quite a lot of streams available to us and being able to earn is down to the individual and what they decide upon.
I hate to compare but if we were still stuck on the old site I honestly doubt if much progress would have been made through development. From what I have heard and haven't checked is nothing has changed with zero development being done which sounds about right. What we have seen happen over the last year and a bit is truly amazing as it is not down to a team but a whole host of developers working on their tribal projects that have made this all happen.
I have always mentioned having a 5 year mindset to grow hoping to hold some real value at some point and believe that if one is consistent that will happen. If one gets involved with the various revenue streams you will make it no matter what and I firmly believe in that. The compounding effect is that big that you have to be a moron to screw that up over a period of time.
Outside of Hive I have a few revenue streams so am lucky that I don't have to be dipping into Hive to pay monthly bills and sometimes wish life was as easy as Hive. there is nothing complicated about this place as long as you are willing to learn and understand and accept change as things develop. Change is good as it creates more opportunities to grow even more as standing still in a high tech world is never good.
The outside world will be shocked when they find Hive and see al the various tribes and what is on offer here. We here about all the idiots trying to say that what is needed today is a decentralised social media and here we are. We can't stay hidden for long as even a game like Splinterlands has been mentioned just yesterday on my twitter feed talking about the launch of a new token and it was not Hive related so a total outsider. people will find this place even if it is not through the front door as this place is just getting that big through growing and developing.
We may have been a rough diamond a year ago but with what has been achieved over the last 16 months we are turning into a polished gem and can only get more valuable over time.
