This week the UK announced they were cutting their Foreign Aid for this year which was already down by 405 from the year before. Last year they gave out around £20 Billion and this year the budget is £8 Billion. They don't have to hand out anything as what is more important fixing your own country or that of others? Covid has changed things at home for many countries as the economies have suffered along with escalating unemployment. The amounts cannot be justified in the type of handouts we have seen in the past.

source Over £10 Billion lost from one country alone for the next financial year.

The reality is only a small percentage of the Foreign Aid ever reaches it's intended destination as it is looted by the leaders along the way. I had no knowledge of the Foreign aid being cut, but I am a huge fan of this move as I believe the hand outs is what is holding Africa back. If the UK is cutting the payments then all the others are as well and this is why the comments made by leaders in the Africa Day Forum/Meeting make more sense now.

Two days ago was Africa Day and to be honest had paid no attention as I firstly had no idea plus I have been busy. What the hell is Africa Day firstly?

I was skimming through what was being said when I came across this. I am appalled and disgusted by this type of thing as it is a type of begging looking for sympathy.

We must confront the vaccine apartheid that is allowing wealthy countries to buy up vaccines whilst less-resourced developing countries languish in the queue.

I find this offensive in so many ways as "apartheid" is used so loosely when something they don't like happens. This is a cap in hand begging statement trying to get their own way and it is not right. I am no racist and will never be one, but they need to fend for themselves at some point. Obviously they were relying on foreign aid to pay for vaccines like everything else has been paid for in the past.

I read that Africa has asked the likes of Pfizer for special reduced rates so they can purchase vaccines. If the governments stopped stealing from their people and were honest they all could afford to purchase whatever medicines and vaccines they required.

A few months back the South African Government bought 1 million vaccines and then asked for businesses to help fund the rest. Talk about trying to bully businesses into a corner otherwise the lock downs would just carry on. The 1 million wasn't even enough to cover the key workers in the health department.

A country like South Africa has vast mineral wealth yet is broke due to all the corruption plus back room deals with China allowing them to rape the country. The corruption we hear about is off the charts and that is not showing a full picture either. Not only here in South Africa but the entire continent has turned into a Chinese help yourself buffet. This continent should be the richest on the planet with what they have yet it is the poorest. Keeping the people uneducated is part of their strategy as this protects the Government as the masses don't understand what is happening.

Good timing with President Macron arriving tomorrow for a State Visit and discussions about Mozambique will be the top of the agenda. Total a French company have placed their $20 Billion project on hold due to violence and South Africa as a neighbor plus the SA President was in Mozambique today is no coincidence. Who knows maybe the French will be paying for SA's vaccines in an around about way.
