Chickens Come Home To Roost

source A few years ago I had a run in with a family member on my wife's side of the family. When I say run in I basically got screwed financially over something we agreed upon and it cost me a lot of cash to fulfil my side of what had been planned.

I had been promised tickets to 5 games at the World Cup as they were part of the sponsors, so tickets were available which I agreed to purchase. A year out from the tournament I had paid for my plane tickets and accommodation in England and France and all in it was not pocket change. The ticket money I had set aside and was waiting for the go ahead to pay. That never came as he had sold them to someone else for a profit as he planned on funding his trip for free.

I bought my tickets on the black market and have never spoken to him again as what he did was unforgiveable in my eyes. His greed cost me literally thousands of dollars which I didn't really have, but I was not going to let other people down as it wasn't just me involved. I warned everyone about him saying he is not trustworthy and has a lie for every story making him look good. A proper two faced knob if I ever saw one.

Another member of the family was in business with him and I heard tonight they have been screwed as well. My ears pricked up as there was my next post lol. He sold the company without telling anyone and now is justifying his greed saying he did all the work and therefore it is his to keep. The only reason he was involved in the company was the family member put the capital up and had all the contacts. His job was to do the work as they were silent partners which was agreed upon. I can see this going to a legal battle as this is far from over.

I did warn them 5 years ago that this guy was shady and what he did to me he would do to someone else but on a bigger scale. Having partnerships are difficult enough, but when you can't count on family who can you count on. money changes people and they will show their true colors if you give them enough rope to hang themselves.

The family is in a state of shock and anger yet no one listened 5 years ago when I said he was a prime dick and to leave him alone giving him a wide berth. I am not sure what the amount that has been stolen is but I know in 2010 when the company was formed we were talking millions so it must be 10's of millions by now as the company did rather well.

My business partner thankfully I trust and is not family and have known personally for 13/14 years now. He wouldn't dare do this to me as he has way more than I have and this is pocket change to him plus he knows what the consequences would be possibly. If someone stole millions from me I know what I would do and I am sure others would be thinking along the same lines.

I am just sad for everyone involved that I was proven right as normally I can see through someone's character. I would rather be proved wrong than see a family torn apart as this is not something that will make for a good family reunion and that has now gone permanently. This year has been one stuff up from the next and can't wait for 2021 as what is going to happen next as we have 4 days left.
