Finally
Over the last month give or take our work email was down which under normal circumstances I would have a panic attack. Luckily most businesses were closed for the seasonal break and are only just back.
Somewhere somehow one of the emails in out small group of people was compromised and from what I can tell it was mist likely the lady who runs the reception. Some of my customers started getting some spam emails after she had sent out quotes.
These days we don't open anything especially the attachments or links unless we know it is from someone we know. I was at a customer on Monday and mentioned what we had experienced and they have had the same problem so who knows it could have been me opening one of their emails prior to us going down.
We have had our service providers adding another fire wall and some other security measures in the meantime. I personally just find it annoying as business is bad enough without having one of your key communication weapons at hand. There is the phone which is the communication I prefer if I cannot see the customer in person as having face time or real time does make a difference.
Out of my 40 odd emails in my inbox over this period many are Twitter ones and hadn't realised how much crap they send out and seriously considering deleting my account. I hate all social media and this is one of the reasons as they try and encroach on all forms of life. I only opened the bloody account because members on Hive wanted an awareness push otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
Anyway back to work as I have any things that still need to be achieved this week even though it is an effort to get going sometimes. This just looks like Ground Hog Day from last year as this is a repeat of what we have seen before.
