Networking And Connecting
I do believe this is your most important tool you have in your tool box for getting anywhere in life. Everything you do is on show to others and meetings with new people are more important than you might think. One never knows who, what, where and how if any of these acquaintances will play a major role in your life.
Your personality is your biggest selling card you have and if people like you those types of people tend to have a head start in life. People are attracted to a smile and someone who is confident as it puts them at ease if they are feeling a bit out of place.
I learned a valuable lesson the one night at a work function many years ago when my promotional team had a barbeque and drinks event at our corporate hotel/training facility. Yes we were that big we had all these types of venues including television studios for training purposes. That night we weren't on our own and there were a couple of faces I had never seen before.
The one chap was sitting on his own away from everyone so I thought I had better keep him company to try and include him somehow. That night we chatted for hours and eventually some others joined us but they took their time. It turned out that this guy unknown to anyone was the new CEO of the company taking up his position at the end of that month. He was staying at the complex before moving permanently and had been invited as a guest to join in. He thanked me many months afterwards making him feel comfortable by promoting me into a new role he had made. I along with 2 others were the only ones on a fast track route which was leaked to me months later.
I have spoken about the friend of mine who I met on a plane trip and has become a crucial cog in my business plans as he knows everyone in my field. It is not as though you are hunting these meet ups as they just happen when you put yourself out there. I have always liked meeting new people as you get other ideas and different perspectives on life in general. Not every person you meet is your type but a percentage are and you get on with them.
Last night I was not expecting anything ,but hey stuff happens and it kind of threw me. @cryptoknight12 replied and we later chatted on discord and it looks like we can help each other in the real world outside of the block chain. On Hive and Leo we have a bond that is strange to explain, but there is a bond as many of us think the same way. I have never met him, but just know that there is some trust already as our fields can crossover seeing where we can help each other. This I believe will be the first of many crossovers as others will find the same thing as the community grows.
I think those that take this place seriously enough and put themselves out there will find true connections in whatever form that is. I know I have a core group I trust and have never met them and know at some point we will have a real meet up.
