source A brand we will all know in the future and will be one of the top earning companies in the world with what they have developed. They were only founded as a company in 2012 based in Tel Aviv and have been off the radar until recently.

We have seen how technology has changed many things in our world over the last 30 years with things like the internet and mobile phones. In that time period we saw companies jump out of nowhere and become major players in the world as we know it. Some started off strongly and never kept up with the times like Nokia and have slowly disappeared. Possibly they will return at some point but who knows.

The next biggest change for everyone has to be moving from fossil fueled driven cars to electric power. The problem is the the technology is not quite ready and this is an opportunity for companies to get involved by backing the right horse. Companies like BP have to find which horse that is as their business future looks bleak. Everyone is investing buying shares thinking like companies such as Tesla are a golden ticket to dreamland. They probably are but companies that supply certain products so these dreams can happen are more important in my thinking.

source I was reading an article about an Israeli company called Storedot that develops batteries. They are no ordinary company and develop fast charging devices and were the ones that came up with a cell phone battery that charged in 30 seconds. The company was founded in 2012 and ha the prototype phone battery within 2 years due to certain investors backing them like Samsung and Daimler (Mercedes).

What was interesting to read is BP invested in Storedot in 2018 and they have since managed to create a car battery that takes only 5 minutes to charge. They have developed this alongside a Chinese battery company called Eve Energy. This is a game changer for the car industry as the biggest problem was the range and the time it took for the battery to charge. Another player on board is Nissan with their chemical division and not surprisingly in the pound seats to take advantage of batteries for their cars.

What I find interesting is how the likes of BP are changing tactics covering their bases as a company. Instead of cursing their bad luck having their industry slowly die out they have taken the only choice open to them and that is to be part of the future.

Another company that I recognized as an investor in Storedot from the years gone by was TDK which manufactured cassette tapes which many of us over 45 years of age remember for our walkmen. They are involved with data storage these days and are not a household name like they once were.

Tesla look as though they have missed the boat as according to the news they approached them only recently and why would they share their product with a competitor as Daimler and Nissan would have a big say being part of the board of Storedot. This could take Tesla years to solve the battery problem giving the inside manufacturers like Nissan and Daimler Mercedes a head start.

This hasn't cost the comapnies involved a fortune either as BP paid a reported $20 Million as their buy in investment. There is risk involved with any new startups and this one seems to have paid off handsomely. having the same time to charge a car as it would to fill up at the pump this could see the industry go through a massive change very quickly.

Tesla models depending on the battery take between 6 and 12 hours to charge and will Storedot share their technology with other manufacturers? Obviously it is something that is patented as they have gone a different route entirely compared to all the others. They have replaced the graphite conductors with nano particles based on geranium which will then be replaced with silicon at some point. No one else is doing this and is the game changer.

I have been looking for investment news and can only find how much the investors have ploughed in so far being $156 Million. The company is privately owned and has no public offerings. The companies at the head of the queue are the ones who invested from the outset and are looking like the obvious winners so far. This is like being involved in Apple from day one and we all know what happened later on.
