Too Many Bad Eggs

source I am learning to spot the bad eggs much quicker these days and goes back to gut instinct and just experience with people. Peoples actions give themselves away more than they realise.

The talk of corrupt buyers reared it's ugly head again today as my new crack tram of agents is struggling with an account. They don't have patience like me and need to be schooled in the art of subtlety. I always believe if you give someone enough rope they will hang themselves.

My team has been on the road for less than 1 month and know they have a buyer on the take or in better terms is receiving kick backs for purchasing more expensive items. Unfortunately it was bad before lock downs happened and with the fragility of the economy and job security at an all time low this will only increase.

I explained that I have several accounts I have been working on and they take slightly longer to land. Funny enough I met with a director of one such account yesterday and he asked me for the entire history of what has taken place. The buyer is unaware obviously but this is a small world that your actions can come back to bite you. This one account is 3 years in the works and I can't even get a courteous response via email anymore. They have made their bed and now they must lie in it is how I feel.

The other account is still very much in play and 5 weeks from now we will know if the buyer is a good egg or a bad egg. My money is on the bad egg right now as the delay tactics are wearing a little thin. October will mark the first meeting that was postponed followed by February and then March so I am not holding my breath here either.

The problem lies in the companies who hire these individuals and never follow up doing their own research. If I was crooked I could have made a fortune but to be honest doing these types of deals never crossed my mind. There are so many bad eggs out there outweighing the good ones today it is kind of disheartening.

I have told my team to be patient as someone I know will know either the owner or the person in charge and to relax. Having a vast network of resources is something I have built up over time and has been slowly paying off. Just today with my one contact I am getting a new batch of leads which could lead to something or not.

Everyone talks in this industry and people know each other or know someone that knows someone who can help. If you are dirty then I hope you made enough as jobs are few and far between and having a bad name won't help with future employment. Fortunately not being desperate has allowed me to take time over these dodgy accounts as the time is their rope. I hate to see anyone fired but if they are stealing when others in that company are being retrenched then I have no mercy.

I spoke about a buyer 3 weeks ago having lost his way and somehow he is back on board with his assistant calling the shots. That particular problem has been resolved and have no idea why and possibly could have been a phone call last month that was made by my contact who knows the CEO of that company. People are generally stupid and greedy when in a position to take advantage which sickens me knowing and seeing what is happening.
