My 2021 financial tasks

My mind is unusual. When I have a task I enjoy I get so focused on it other things slip my mind completely. Other goals and tasks that aren't in my immediate sights suffer because of this.

One of my coping mechanisms is making lists. I have a notice board with a list of everything I need to do short term and long term. While I'm focused on one task, the others are safely stored in ink, rather than the cloudy mess that is my brain.

This trait of mine has affected my Crypto portfolio enough times now to concern me. I seem to be incapable of HODL. Every time I find something I want to invest in, one of my coins that were initially purchased for long term holding becomes the sacrificial lamb when I really should be buying with Fiat instead.

Because of this, it's time to write a list.

  1. This year Fiat takes priority
  2. Stop exchanging your coins you dummy
  3. Increase Hive and Leo passive earning
  4. Stop getting bored of faucets

This year Fiat takes priority.

Booooo, hissssss. Controversial right?
This year an opportunity has appeared for me to finally buy myself a house. I've been waiting all my life for this so can't afford any risky Crypto purchases. The one lesson I've learned from friends is that no matter the budget you set yourself when purchasing a house, it's never enough. So until this milestone is reached, I need to behave.

I'll still be investing. But withdrawing the initial investment and keeping the profit in crypto form to hodl. Slow, but safe.

Stop exchanging your coins you dummy.

This one is pretty simple. Every time I exchange one crypto to another, the former always seems to do well a few days later. Earning a higher number of coins and letting them naturally gain value seems to be much more efficient than chasing dollar value in trading. Which leads me neatly onto the next point.

Increase Hive and Leo passive earning.

I'm currently earning 0.15 Hive and 0.15 Leo daily through curation bot delegation. It's taken me 2 months to get to this point. This year I would like to go to my wallet and see one of each token transferred each day. I think this is very achievable but I've set the goal low because of how potentially busy I'm going to be IRL.

Stop getting bored of faucets.

Here's my brain being silly again. Because I'm only seeing $0.01 being added to my wallet each time, I'm deciding it's not worth the effort and abandoning it. Except it's not $0.01 being added, it's the potential for a hell of a lot more. Same goes for slow earners like WAX. Who knows if that's ever going to explode in price, but if it does and I've abandoned it, I'll be kicking myself.

I was going to use this as the lead image but boooooring

In conclusion I need more patience. I'm sowing the seeds to a bright financial future but not giving them enough time to sprout. By poking at them and moving then around I'm hindering growth.

Hurry up Project blank, I need you to occupy my restless brain.
