I am not a trader. I am not a psychic. I am not a particularly clever man. I'd even go as far as to call myself reckless because of the tiny amount of research I do on investments. tl;dr: Nothing I post is sound financial advice.

But today has been a milestone for me. Despite all of the above, I have doubled the investment I made 2 years ago and withdrawn it back to the safety* of my bank account.

*I know, I know. Let's not go there

They say to never invest money that you can't afford to lose, and as someone that is still saving to buy their first house, that amount is zero. Otherwise of course I would have liked to have left the initial investment and continued using it.

This is a big deal to me because I am a worrier. I'll open exchanges to see how my coins are doing every day, and that's exhausting. Now that I'm running off of profits I can relax and hodl properly. Something takes a big hit? No bother, it'll go back up in a few months. Not "ohshitohshit there goes my cash".

It also protects me from Donald Trumping my own investments. https://fortune.com/2015/08/20/donald-trump-index-funds/ Remember the "small loan" he got from his Dad? If he had just invested it and left it alone he would have been far better off.

Looking back, my first buy was BTC. If I had left it alone, I would have doubled my money far quicker than I actually did. Whoops...

Where do I go from here? Thanks to WSB/GME I got interested in the stock market. However I'm going to get out ASAP, because it's the goddamn stock market. I'm only invested in it because I'm hoping to see green once Covid loosens its grip on us. After that I am well and truly out of my depth.

The rest of my time goes to Leo and any new projects I can find. I can't overstate how excited I am for Project Blank, Leo is the most well established community I've seen so far, the only thing it's been missing is a less formal side that I hope microblogging will allow for.

As for new projects, I think BTCs time as king is limited. If a newcomer is going to snatch the crown I'd like to not miss getting a seat on the rocket this time round.
