Look what I found from a mysterious encrypted memo: The competition is slowly getting real for Hive

I recieved an encrypted memo from alienbird a few days ago.

After unlocking it, this is what I saw.

I clicked in and saw this TipMeACoffee site:

Clicking in the Login icon, I was prompted to key in the "Private Key".

This is when it is easy for fellow Hivers to fall prey to keying in their private keys.

Be extra careful before keying in your private keys! It can be stolen!

Certainly, this is an unknown website to me, and does not seem to be in the Hive ecosystem.

I looked up alienbird, and found that there is no mention of it recommending any Hive blockchain project too.

I digged deeper into the website, and found that it is a new social media post-to-earn project similar to Hive. The project is from https://breeze.foundation/, and in many ways it seems like a copy of what Hive is. They even have the same 3 seconds block time!

Ok, I get it.

Perfectly fine with me if someone wants to build a better social media.

Hive users also have the liberty to start/replicate their social media life elsewhere.

Indeed, what Hive needs to do is recognize that the competition for the tokenized social media space is slowly getting real for Hive.

Similar projects like TipMeACoffee, The Decentralized Social Blockchain (DeSo), are surfacing, and some are also actively marketing to Hivers.

Nothing wrong with that. Competition is good.

What is essential is for us who believes in Hive to keep making Hive better, and to actively market Hive to potential new users on other social media.

The competition is slowly fast getting real for Hive.

More people should try Hive before trying other tokenized social media platform.
