Rationalizing others' riches

Recently I came across an account that does not post anything, but was just curating and earning the curation records. I recall that the account is close to 100K HP and so you can imagine the fat rewards it is earning with each upvote.

Basically, that account right now is what I want to achieve with mine, as I wrote recently.

When that time comes, I could probably just be setting my account on auto-voting mode to earn curation rewards.

So in a way, I do not mind such behavior. However, some would. And it's understandable.

They would call such behavior anti-social and bad because they are just reaping from the network and not contributing.

Really, at the core of it, people are just jealous!

Some are also calling out for closely-knitted accounts that kept most of their votes within their own community. Again, they are seen as being anti-social.

These situations really make me think hard.

Clearly, one day when I am rich (in Hive), I am going to make the best use of it, whatever that means. And you know what? I have every right to do so because I built my account up with my means. I took the risks, and made the loss over time too. I deserves the riches when it comes.

In real life, there are definitely others who are more advantageous and better financially endowed than we are. Like Elon Musk and the likes, but we don't go on complaining that they are taking advantage of the situation in life because they have a fat bank balance that makes earning yields easier than us.

In fact, we recognize others can be richer than us and we continue to do what we can to make our own lives better.

So, why can't that happen in Hive? Why can't we leave the rich accounts alone and keep on doing our stuff? We should not complain about their anti-social behavior.

I think that should be the right way to rationalize others' riches. As long as we believe that we are early, relative to how much time we have left, we could still make it big by our standards someday.

The reality is that there are some who think that I am rich with this 10K HP account and envy me a lot. Indeed, everything is relative.

P/S: This is not financial advice, and please do your own due diligence before investing.
