Since I was a child I have always been fascinated by the world of finance. I remember that my mom taught us the practice of saving for the future, and she encouraged my brother and me to save the money we had left over to invest in small things so that we could later profit from their sale. I confess that I was not as good a trader as my son is today, however I consider myself a good investor and "hunter" of opportunities. In my first steps, I was about 16 years old, that's when I started to recognize what a "hard" currency is, just like the dollar and the euro today. In my country, with an inflationary tradition since the 80's, it was vital to preserve the value of money as a means of personal savings, health or fun, for example if you wanted to go on vacation to a place with your family, the most logical thing to do was to buy dollars and reserve them for that special moment. Also if your thought was to buy your house or apartment you should act the same way. Always the obstacle was to accumulate enough funds to start a project that would guarantee its success, without the eventual problem of losing the purchasing power of money, especially in my country Venezuela, with economic problems that have led to the constant devaluation of its currency. For this reason I always liked to invest in foreign currency and then think about dedicating myself to my true passion, which is real estate.

Desde pequeño siempre me ha fascinado el mundo de las finanzas. Recuerdo que mi mamá nos enseñó la práctica de ahorrar para un futuro, es más nos aupaba a mi hermano y a mí a guardar el dinero sobrante para invertir en pequeñas cosas para luego pudiésemos sacar provecho con su venta. Confieso que no fui tan buen comerciante como lo es mi hijo actualmente, sin embargo me considero un buen inversionista y “cazador” de oportunidades. En mis primeros pasos, tenía alrededor de 16 años, fue cuando comencé a reconocer lo que es una moneda “dura”, tal cual es el dólar y el euro hoy. En mi país, con una tradición inflacionaria desde los años 80, era vital conservar el valor del dinero como medio de ahorro personal, de salud o diversión, por ejemplo si querías ir de vacaciones a un sitio con tu familia, lo más lógico era comprar dólares y reservarlos para ese momento especial. También si tu pensamiento era comprar tu casa o apartamento debiste actuar de igual manera. Siempre el obstáculo era acumular suficientes fondos para iniciar un proyecto que garantizara su éxito, sin el problema eventual de que se perdiera el poder adquisitivo del dinero, sobre todo en mi país Venezuela, con problemas económicos que han llevado a devaluar constantemente su moneda. Por tal motivo siempre me gustó invertir en divisas para luego pensar en dedicarme a mi verdadera pasión como lo es la rama inmobiliaria.

I confess that my idea turned out to be a relative success in the long term.
