Time to get out those cute cat and kitten photos and SHARE!

The sun feels SO good!

We've been having quite a few nice sunny spring days here at our place, and that makes me very happy! As you probably know, we cats love our sunny spots, and this is my favorite times of the year... the sun is still low in the sky, but we're having more daylight, and because the trees haven't leafed out yet, we're getting more sunny spots inside the house!

Meanwhile, around Hivelandia...

How About That CUB!?!?

The biggest "splash" of the week — without doubt — comes from the LeoFinance Community where @khaleelkazi and crew rolled out the brand new CUB Decentralized Finance platform this week.

I have long been a big fan of @leofinance as it was one of the first communities in which I actually purchased Hive-Engine tokens, back when it was called "SteemLeo." You know, because LEO and CUBS and cats all go together!

As I write these words, the community's native LEO token trades for $1.15 per token, and their newly released CUB token has reached $5.87 per token after just three days!

And yes, I did manage to figure out how to stake my modest 17 CUB tokens in the project... and if I can figure that out — remember, I'm a CAT! — pretty much anybody can figure it out.

Which just goes to show you (a) that all those "community tokens" on Hive-Engine are not a "waste of time," and (b) our individual niche communities can easily become a major part of building the future of Hive!

By extension, this also means that — even though this is a LeoFinance project — that Hive is now "getting its toes wet" on the explosive Decentralized Finance trend.

All of this is good for all of us, in the long run — even if your gig isn't money and investing.

Shoutout to the Hive Pets Community!

Communities matter, and this week I wanted to give a shoutout to the Hive Pets Community, which is still fairly new around here, but has quickly become very popular with the animal lovers of Hive!

Hive Pets was founded by @roadstories back in December and already has 900 subscribers!

Of course the community was created for all pet lovers, but they have some very nice cat content over there, as well, so I invite you all to check it out!

I love to support these kinds of niche communities because it's important to the future of Hive to have content other than just crypto, blockchain and development.

Speaking of Which...

As you may have noticed, I recently started up a series of posts on the Importance of Hive's communities as central to building our collective future and success... and yes, I do plan to continue those posts.

Unfortunately the Dad-Hooman is very busy preparing business taxes at the moment, and since I don't have opposable thumbs, I can't create these blog posts on my own.

I do send completely arbitrary and random email sometimes, however!

Three Years of Hive!

Wednesday last actually marked the 3rd anniversary of my arrival on Hive!

375 posts and almost 5,000 comments later, I am very glad I became part of this fascinating Social Experiment. I hope we all get to enjoy many great years ahead!

Thanks to everyone who has visited, commented and become friends along the way!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Remember, you can also "cross-post" your cat posts to them!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
