X-file of CUBs - Understanding the numbers
Upon seeing Toruk's incredibly huge harvest show-off post: Farming in my sleep. I have the idea of doing some math to find out more about Cub's magic Xs.
Check it out and verify or nullify me if you will.
Daily minted CUBs
24 hours 60 minutes 60 seconds / 3 blocks per second 1 CUB per block = 28,800 CUBs daily**. Easy one.
* So if 1,387 CUBs were Toruk's harvest for only one day, that means he gets 1387/28800 ~ 5% of daily minted CUBs.This quantity is quite large. Currently CUB has a total of 1.28M tokens. So it means in 44 days, total supply will double. At the end of this year, we will have roughly 9M of CUBs if the rule is not changed. (It can be changed as CUB itself is also a governance token to be)
CUB inflation rate
So CUB token now has unlimited supply based upon the 1 CUB per block rule. That means CUB's inflation rate goes down as the total supply goes up. For example, today the inflation rate is 2.25% DAILY!! After one week, it will decrease below 2%. Still high, but decreasing. After two months, it will drop below 1%.
1% is still incredibly high if you view it as inflation. But it's normal for a developing project. We have seen it before with the big lion. Little ones can grow even bigger and have siblings...
View this rate as opportunity for late comers to get in. That would totally change your perspective.
CUB Xs. What means?
We are lured by the 50x or 15x ... Those damn Xs... But how many CUBs do they mean?
Let's collect the total number of Xs. You can get it from this post 0 Deposit Fee Day, Composable Contracts and Audits: It's 140 Xs in total.
So an X means 28,800 CUBs / 140X ~ 205 CUBs / X
Basically it means - taking CUB-BUSD for example - This farm will produce 205 CUBs/X * 50X = 10,250 CUBs daily. You can do the math for other farms/dens.
But how much do I get?
You get your proportional share of these CUBbies based on your LP token share. So if this place is more crowded, your share of CUBs will decrease ...
