It's not that easy figuring things out here without someone you can ask an actual question and, more importantly, get an answer.

Yes, as far as the empathy goes, our media outlets won't let us feel empathy. We're barraged by their slant on everything we view, regardless of whether its the mainstream media or Fox. Both sides continue to make sure we clearly see how bad the other side is. Until they start crossing the aisle themselves and giving fair coverage to the opposition, they're certainly not going to give it to us.
