Hey Everyone! Another Saturday which means another recap of the week in Splinterlands. Fairly tame this week by recent standards but that doesn't mean there's not a lot going on. Jumping right in...

Proposals

There are currently two proposals that can be voted on in the game. The first has to do with setting aside enough Chaos Legion packs to keep handing them out as rewards in chests. After CL sells out, there will be a fairly significant dryspell until Rebellion is released, so it seems like a great idea to me. Packs are considered one of the best rewards you can get, especially for newbies, so keeping them in the mix helps incentivize continued play.

The other proposal has to do with Land. There was a failed proposal a couple weeks ago where potions could be used to "enhance" your odds on getting better land results. After some rethinking, the team has come up with this new proposal where instead of potentially changing the value of the land, they will offer "Starter Packages" that allow people to boost some of the early things you can do on your land. This will not change the "value", but it will give a large push to the early stages where levels and resources will be low. This has received a much more favorable response and looks like it will pass. You can read the full proposal here as it is really quite in depth.

Chaos Legion

As you can see, the Chaos Legion packs are finally getting close to the end. There are only 224k left before the final airdrop of the Legendary Dragon Summoner, and then only 1M left after that. But, it's actually significantly less. First, the team plans on taking another 250k packs for NFTy Arcade to use in full deck rentals, and another @300k will be set aside to continue giving rewards in chests. Add to this the fact that they are burning 25k/day and they just put on a last-minute sales contest, and these could be gone in just a couple weeks. Better buy them now if you still want to get the potential airdrop. Once they hit 14M that chance is gone, although anything you buy after that will still have a chance of receiving it inside the pack.

Land v1.5

Aggy came out with an announcement on Discord explaining the next few months in the development of land. They still plan on having v1.0 done by the end of March which will allow Surveying your plots as well as the potential Proposal talked about earlier. However, due to the fact that Land v2.0 is still months and months away, they are adding a v1.5.

In our proposed V1.5 you'll be able to start staking cards and DEC on your land in order to earn SPS (pending DAO approval) and get a head start on certain parts of the land expansion such as unlocking the Secret of Praetoria!

The community is growing impatient with the large number of cards on the market and are tired of seeing prices fall in both the card and rental markets. This v1.5 should address that by allowing cards to be staked on Land, which will create a massive demand. There aren't enough cards in existence for all the land to be fully utilized by maxed out cards. You won't need maxed out cards to run your land, but as with all cards, the stronger they are the better they will perform.

The guesstimated timeframe for this release is by the end of Q2. It will be interesting to see what sort of runup there will be in the markets until that point.

Bits & Pieces

Soulbound cards continue to be pumped out of the rewards chests. Depending on which league you're playing in, you can get more or less at once out of these chests. I've gotten as many as 10 cards from a single chest so it may not take quite as long to start maxing these out as I previously thought. That said, you still need over 7000 individual cards to max everything so it will definitely be taking a few months at best.

Aggy continues to work on partnerships and promotions behind the scenes. There's an interesting one he floated in the Mavs channel the other day regarding a large company. It was unnamed but, as I said, there's still a lot going on behind the scenes that could expand the reach of Splinterlands and bring awareness to many more people.

My Stuff

As for me, I continue to play and gather as many cards as I can; both Soulbound and others. I'm up to 304 Common, 58 Rare, 11 Epic, and 2 Legendary. Plus, 29 GF, none of which are Legendary. So, 404 total cards through one season. Not terrible. Like I said, though, a long way to go.

I'm still playing in Diamond and finishing in Champion but I haven't been able to get there soon enough to actually play. I want to make sure I'm collecting Champion chests throughout the season so I haven't wanted to risk losing my way back down into Diamond. Hopefully this season I can make a run at it.

In the meantime, I'm still collecting cards and trying to find cheap Betas for staking on land and Untamed and Dice to play with. They are getting few and far between but I've managed a couple here and there.

First, there's this one. Although they haven't laid out exactly how land will work in relation to the cards being used on it, I've gotten the sense that the "older" the card is, the better it will perform. They want to try and make sure the older cards still have value in the game. So, with that in mind, I grabbed a maxed out one of these for less than $50. It will actually have it's uses in battles as a 2 mana card with Void Armor and Shield, but I just want to have as many of these older cards as I can.

Next, I maxed out Contessa. She was at level 6 and I went ahead and upgraded her to 8. With the three rule-sets in place and the Range Only, she has already proven her worth in a couple of low mana battles.

This is another I maxed out. Untamed again, I had it at level 5 and saw a good opportunity to max it out. I love playing this card and surprising the occasional Water player by putting it last. With the Thorns and Shield, it can wreak havoc on the Uraeus, Pelacor combo people like to play. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's immensely satisfying. :-)

Finally, I scooped up another Beta. As I've said in the past, I probably won't play it, but I can rent it out and also hopefully use it on Land. It's from the Life Splinter so I now have maxed out Betas in some form of rarity from each Splinter other than Fire and Death. Still working on those.

One final note, for those of you who don't use LeoFinance, they just launched their new User Interface which is very similar to the interface used by Twitter. It is no longer just a finance and crypto site. It is now for anything and everything you want to post, just like Twitter. There are already some Splinterlands threads being created but there is room for a LOT more. Share your battles, your posts, your cards, your thoughts, whatever you want and earn some LEO and HIVE tokens by doing it. It's a no-brainer. You should definitely check it out. You have nothing to lose and lots of LEO and HIVE to gain. The link is here. It's still early so there are a few bugs here and there, but so far it's been awesome!

That's it for this week. By next week we may have another Legendary Summoner to play. Happy Battling!
