Banks in Spain take money away because of low income [ENG/ESP] Bancos de España quitan dinero por tener bajos ingresos

Yesterday I got a rather controversial Twitt. The truth is that practically all the comments were in favor of the author and in solidarity with her.

Twitt said so:

The BBVA has just charged me a 100 euro commission for "not having a fixed income over 600 euro". In other words, they penalize me for not having money, taking money away from me. I'm going to cancel my account and I hope to be able to live without going through a bank ever again. Please, comrades, help me make this visible.

At the time of this post I had 24K of retwits, 1,036 Twitts quoted and 40.3K of hearts.

The bank responded to them:

Hello, good afternoon. Clara, could you tell us via DM how you visualize this information? We remind you that you should only talk to this verified account.

The incredible thing is that it was the BBVA Mexico account and clearly the case was for BBVA Spain, but this one never responded.

In the comments I could observe many opinions. Some of them motivated me to boycott not only that bank, but all Spanish banks. Other opinions called for state banks, but many criticized this option since Spain has very bad experience with cases of corruption in public banks.

In the long thread, there were more anecdotes like that. Many people demanded the same treatment from other banks, even with higher rates. Pensioners have a hard time with this, receiving less than what the banks ask for. People who live on benefits lose their money because they don't reach the minimum.

They also created the tag #blockbbva which carries 500 twitts when this post is published

I asked a relative who lives in Spain and he confirmed the news. It is a measure imposed by the banks this year 2020 and many people are only now finding out when, because it is the end of the year, the banks are charging these fees. Some make it monthly, others quarterly and others annually as I read in the comments.

Something surprising is that when I read the post for the first time and already with 40K hearts; I didn't see a single comment recommending bitcoin and cryptomonies. Many wondered how to have a life disconnected from the banks and did not reach the solution to the comments that we do know what it is.

After noticing the non-existence of bitcoin as a solution, I went to look in the aforementioned twitts and found three that spoke of bitcoin to avoid banks. The funny thing is that they were Venezuelan bitcoiners and no Spanish ones.

If we look at the adoption of bitcoin and cryptomonies through this twitt; we could conclude that a lot of work is needed in Spain, but that it could be interesting due to the need for people to get out of the banking system.

The money we have in the banks is not ours. First of all because it is money created by the state under its control. Second, the reserve is held by a centralized entity watched over by that State that controls the money. In short, we never have control of that money. It can be taken away from us as in this case and in many other ways, such as through fines and seizures.

Bitcoin was born to give us back ownership of our heritage. No one can censor it, seize it or steal it. Our duty is to show this to the world.

O sea, me penalizan no tener dinero, quitándome dinero.
