As another comment said above, you really hit the nail on the head with this line:

I think most people actually do enjoy work. What are people doing when they get really into a hobby, after all? Doing research on psychology (for fun), or repairing cars, or picking up trash around the neighborhood, or doing woodworking, and so on. These would all be classified as hobbies by society, and they are sure, but they are also work. They illustrate that people actually do really enjoy working, they just hate their jobs (for all the reasons we know well).

I don't know how we can get here but I do suspect crypto will have a large part in the path.
