I feel like I'm so left behind with everything else lately after months of being locked down in a military state (a.k.a. my corporate job where the only thing that is not forbidden is breathing). So now I'm spending a lot more time exploring other opportunities and learning more about the cryptosphere. Sure, I still can't wrap my head around some crypto terminologies but I'll get there!

I just recently switched to this browser called Brave and I couldn't be happier. I wish I could have done this sooner. When I say Brave, think Speed and Privacy. And if you have an anti-ad attitude, this browser is for you.

Don't worry, there's not much of a drastic change in your browsing life if you switch to Brave. It is pretty much just like any other standard browsers - you surf the web, read content, go on incognito mode, and run extensions. Brave has the Google Chrome feels because it is built on the same engine called Chromium. And just like any other browsers, Brave is free to use and you can download it from here. So give it a try (I'm not getting commissions here okay).

Brave really is a speed demon. I don't think I'll ever come back to Chrome or other browsers again. I mean who doesn't want everything fast in this uber fast-paced digital world? Brave is probably the fastest browser that I've ever used and I've experienced it straight away after installing it. I will still keep Google Chrome installed as my back up browser though but I'm now setting Brave as default. What makes it fast is due to its ad-blocking feature. All those websites are loaded with ads and flashing banners which slow down your browsing experience. Brave already has these ad-blocking features by default. So I no longer have to go through all the trouble of disabling stuff in the browser settings or installing ad-blockers. Brave is fast because it doesn't download everything from a website. It eliminates all those ads and trackers.

So does it mean that Brave won't show you any ads anymore? Brave tries to strike the balance between privacy and ad-based revenue. Popular browsers like Edge and Google Chrome don't need to rely on ads to live, they are just simply a cog in the machine. So the irony here is that even though Brave is anti-ad, it still relies on ad to make money. But here's the fun part that I like, probably the best of its features, you make money just by using Brave.

Brave is brave enough to compete with the major players by being different. Brave uses cryptocurrency called BAT (Basic Attention Token) to reward its users for viewing its curated ads or for paying attention. These ads are pretty much non intrusive and appear like notifications on your system tray. And you can be assured that these are not viruses since Brave promotes privacy and safety. These are Brave's own ads where it gets its revenue (because somebody has to pay the bills too).

I personally like Brave for speed, cryptocurrency is a bonus. I just started immersing myself in the crypto world so anything that I could earn aside from Hive would be cool. I suggest you give Brave a try too!

Are you holding some BAT?
