Don't be afraid to try new things
Just because you are good in one thing doesn't mean you should not try other ones. I am not asking you to be jack of all trade, but if one thing doesn't work out, try another.
Don't be afraid to try new things. Some people, because of peer pressure and thinking about what people will say or do, they throw the opportunity to try something new which might have been something that will work out for them.
Back then in my secondary school days, i was known to be a business man, that is because of the variety of things i sell in school.
But it all started when i decided to try something new. I was not selling anything at that time. I taught to my self that if i should start selling pen, i would make a lot of money, since students either loss their pen, forget to buy outside or they run out of ink. After thinking about it, the taught of what people will say came to my mind. I was scared of being ridiculed but i summoned courage.
On the first day, i brought the pen to school in its packets and announced to the class that i now sell pen. Everyone burst out laughing. Some will mock me while others will say i am desperate for money. I swallowed all that and continued with my sales. I didn't make a dine in the first week because everybody wanted me to give them my pen for free. They would rather buy outside than buy from me simply because i am a classmate.
But after the first week, i started making sales. They realised that i was the closest vendor to them selling the same pen they buy outside, so they started buying from me. I made a lot of money then.
After some months, i noticed that my classmates are now feeling their puberty and some of them now come to class wearing perfumes. After that observation, i decided to try something new, but entering another business became a hard decision. I was not ready to face the humiliation, mockery and insult i face the first time.
But i still summoned courage, i learnt how to produce perfumes and started producing it. I came to school and announced my new business as usual, but this time everybody was willing to check it out. The mockery was less than the first time, i sold everything i came to school with that day as i went home to produce more. The money i made from the perfume business was 5 times the money i make from pen business and i was loving it. I combined both business and I was making a lot of money at a young age. I even produce perfumes for my teachers.
This is what trying new things can get you. Don't look at what anybody has to say or do. So far what you are doing is legal, do it with pleasure and you will definitely succeed .
