There are over 7 million Airbnb rentals to be found around the world in over 191 countries. You can find Airbnb properties to rent in tens of thousands of cities around the world today.

Just recently, to help with the situation in Afghanistan Airbnb came out and said that they were going to help refugees and that they would be able to stay at properties that were listed on their platform and they would also be funded by Airbnb too.

Helping Tens of Thousands of Afghan Refugees

Airbnb has also been encouraging their hosts to donate their properties for stays during this time of crisis, in these sorts of situations we have seen Airbnb hosts provide their properties for people free of charge who desperately needed housing in emergency circumstances.

This is a helpful opportunity to those who need it most, for refugees to be able to access temporary housing when they have nothing else to turn to.

Those who are open to giving their space to any Afghan refugees are encouraged to get connected with the cause to find out more.

According to the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR it is estimated that some 2.5 million or more Afghan refugees have been forced to flee their homes. Some other estimates place is it over 3.5 million.

Resettlement agencies have been working alongside with Airbnb to try and help as many as they can to find housing. They are also working with any Airbnb hosts who want to step in and help too.

For those who are interested in helping but who don't have a property to give up for housing to Afghan refugees they can also choose to give financial help too and donate through Airbnb to the cause at Airbnb.org as well.
