Business managers are having a hard time filling positions right now and they say that it is because people do not want to work.

They are putting advertisements in a variety of places and getting the word out about positions only to have many people schedule interviews and then simply not show up for them.

They say that it isn't about the pay but that people might just not want to return to work yet.

In places like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, California, and other regions, there are many signs up right now in different communities and advertisements placed online that are looking for people to take open positions.

a record-share of small businesses are reporting difficulties filling positions right now

It's construction industry companies, restaurants, and other businesses, not just one industry that is facing difficulty right now finding needed help.

Companies around the country are struggling to hire people and finding it very difficult to attract workers, especially those that are not offering at-home work opportunities. Many employees have signaled that they will even be ready to quit their job if it means having to go back to the work place, they want the freedom now to continue that work from home.

It looks like for some time it is going to be increasingly difficult for companies to compete for those remaining workers that are available and willing to take the position.

From COVID-19 concerns to stimulus checks, people not wanting to enforce pandemic restrictions on others in CSR positions etc, or preferring to work from home, there are a myriad of reasons why businesses are finding it difficult right now to find the right people.
