The energy crisis is expected to potentially fuel further social unrest this winter. While some won't be impacted there are others who are losing sleep over the potential worsening situation as they see things getting more expensive just to keep a roof over their head and stay warm. Many are worried these days about the cost of living and the cost of food, housing, and more rising.

Some say prices have peaked and that they might be going down now. It's optimistic to think that this inflation is going to be washed away quickly though and that we might see prices for food and other goods return sometime soon that we were familiar with seeing only a few years ago.

Aside from the historic inflation going on these days there is also the continual erosion yearly in value and the deteriorating standard of living. Will things really go back to being cheaper? How long might that take?

Causing major problems this winter

Some households right now are hoarding garbage to burn it to keep warm. There has been an increase in families who have been turning to food banks and other community resources for help too.

It might mean eating cold meals now and going without heat altogether for those who cannot afford it.

How long until businesses also pass that expense onto the consumer for their increased bills too? It is going to be a difficult winter for many.

The cost of living crisis has already sparked protests in other parts of the world and there is the real possibility that it too could bring social unrest to areas around Europe, the US, and elsewhere.
