When asked recently if he owned cryptocurrency Apple CEO T. Cook admitted that he himself does own cryptocurrency because he thinks it is a reasonable part of a diversified portfolio, but he went a little further to confirm that he doesn't think those who are buying Apple would be interested in exposure to crypto and for that reason we shouldn't expect Apple to invest in crypto.

If the company did then they certainly wouldn't be the first company to do it. And there are customers who use Apple products to purchase, sell, and check on their cryptocurrencies etc, and so Cook might be underestimating the interest that those consumers could have for exposure to bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

Might Apple ever take bitcoin in exchange for their products? Again that doesn't look likely apparently anytime soon. But if a growing number of companies out there are going to diversify in this way and compete by offering that convenience of payment method to use cryptocurrencies then it might only be a matter of time before market trends force them to go in that direction to give the customers what they want.

Just recently cryptocurrencies hit a $3 trillion market cap for the first time and it didn't take long to blow right past that either.

Previous surveys have suggested that as many as half of consumers today might be interested in buying goods or services with cryptocurrency and the opportunities to do this continue to grow around the world.

this is not to be taken as financial advice
